Getting Support

Do I need a Red Hat subscription to use Red Hat containers?

A Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Server, or Atomic Host subscriptions can be used to subscribe a system that is capable of running Red Hat container images. When you enhance a Red Hat container image (using yum) or build on an existing image (docker build), the container leverages subscriptions from the RHEL or Atomic host system. In other words, each container does not need a separate subscription to access Red Hat software repositories. Using container images for a specific Red Hat product are governed by the subscription and support policy of that Red Hat product.

How do I know what container images are supported by Red Hat?

For general information on Red Hat’s container support policy, see Red Hat Container Support Policy. To learn the support policy for custom images, see Support policy of customized docker images. To find out which versions of containers are supported with different versions of OpenShift, see OpenShift Container Platform Tested Integrations.
